Summary

Welcome to my resume

This resume was created to showcase some of my skills and knowledge, as well as to provide an opportunity for me to learn HTML and demonstrate my ability to architect a simple hosted website on AWS. Additionally, this website serves the purpose of documenting the deployment process of all the required resources and any lessons learned along the way.

So far, I have created this page using HTML, developed a styles.css file, uploaded all the files to S3, and configured static website hosting. I have also registered a hosted zone and domain in Route 53 and set up a CloudFront distribution with an ACM-managed SSL certificate to enable HTTPS authentication.

I then created a DynamoDB database, a Lambda function, and an API Gateway managed API. Using JavaScript, I implemented functionality to update the visitor counter at the bottom of this site. The updated number is stored in DynamoDB, ensuring its persistence.

Now that I have earned the AWS SOA Certification I will be trying to get AWS Data Engineer Certification whilst also developing a serverless application to use at my current job as a bartender.

I am developing a stock management app to keep track of stock transfers between multiple venues. I am architecting the application to be fully serverless using DynamoDB, Lambda and API gateway as the backend and potentially writing a frontend webapp (potentially using django) or maybe a WhatsApp bot to handle interacting with the backend.

I have recently started my journey learning Python using the resources on Codecademy. This will definitely be a long term focus of mine as the skills and knowledge learned will definitely be useful.

Recently, I've established a GitHub Actions workflow that automatically uploads any changes I make to this site to the S3 bucket hosting it.

My next plan is to set up a lambda function to trigger a CloudFront invalidation on S3 actions, ensuring that end users always see the most updated version of my site.
